Ludington Big King Bonanza

The Big King Bonanza is a seasonal salmon fishing competition based in Ludington, Michigan that brings together anglers from across the Lake Michigan region. Built around the pursuit of trophy King salmon, the Bonanza offers a simple, fun, and competitive format for both weekend anglers and experienced charter crews. Held during the prime fishing months, the event rewards some of the biggest salmon caught each season and encourages anglers to spend more time on the water chasing the next great bite.

Set against Ludington’s world class fishery, participants may run north toward the Bank and Big Sable Point or head south toward Little Sable Point in search of bait and active fish. More than just a leaderboard, the Big King Bonanza celebrates the community and culture of salmon fishing, from early morning launches to dockside stories and friendships built across the fleet.

Fish On for Freedom

Fish on For Freedom is a charity, not for profit event, that is held in Ludington as a token of thanks from the community to the men and women that have sacrificed so much making this nation what it is today.

Although a big part of the event is the activity of going out fishing on the waters of Lake Michigan, the event is also designed to be about the camaraderie of the guests spending time together and the support the community can show towards our military veterans.

Ludington Offshore Classic

This tournament is known for being the largest on the great lakes and is probably responsible for us moving from fishing in Manistee to Ludington. In 2004, we took a quick day trip from Irons to Ludington and it happened to be tournament weekend. Although we've been coming to Ludington since the early 1980's, we kind of forgot how great Ludington is and this day trip rekindled the old flame. 2005 was our first entry into the Offshore Classic and we haven't looked back. The city does a great job with this tournament, as they do with everything throughout the year.
